If the goods are kept after 7 working days or fitted within 7 working days from invoice date, goods are deemed accepted under our terms & conditions of sale. Normal warranties and consumer guarantees will be applicable.
We will not be held responsible for pricing errors due to software mal-functions, or human error. Parts described on this site as GENUINE may be supplied in either the vehicle brand packaging (i.e. "Land Rover") or the original equipment manufacturer packaging (i.e. "Lucas").
All other parts listed are parts manufactured by a well known supplier. e.g. Brake Engineering, Coopers, QH, Vandervell, Armstrong, etc. Manufacturers part numbers are used for reference purposes only.
British Auto Parts offer a 1 month warranty on used parts and 12 month warranty on new parts, unless specifically noted otherwise under the part description, commencing on date of purchase (Invoice date). These warranty terms are not transferable, original invoice is required for proof of purchase. Purchases should be accompanied with a receipt or invoice, this will validate the warranty.This warranty applies only to the part in question, British Auto Parts will in no way be liable to any other incurred costs relative to any part supplied by us. This warranty does not cover consumable items such as brake pads, brake discs, filters, wiper blades, brake shoes, and any other part we deem at our own discretion as a consumable part.
Damages and Losses incurred will not be covered by the warranty, no allowance is made for transport costs. Components used in Performance/off road or race applications are not warrantied. Any product we deem may have faults or is of a quality we deem as low, will be duly noted in the description of such product on the website and the invoice supplied with the product.
The ACCC (Australian Competition & Consumer Commission) states:
You can seek compensation for damages and losses you suffer due to a problem with a product or service if the supplier could have reasonably foreseen the problem. This is in addition to your repair, replacement or refund rights. (If we can forsee a problem with a particular product, it will be so noted in the product description)
Consumer guarantees do not apply if you:
- got what you asked for but simply changed your mind, found it cheaper somewhere else, decided you did not like the purchase or had no use for it
- misused a product in any way that caused the problem
- knew of or were made aware of the faults before you bought the product
- asked for a service to be done in a certain way against the advice of the business or were unclear about what you wanted.
In the instance that you are not satisfied with the quality, condition or operation of the part you have purchased from British Auto Parts, please inform us within 7 days of receiving the part, after this period, the part is non returnable. In the event that we do not have a replacement part, we will order or locate another, failing this, we will issue you with a refund on the part price only, not on any freight charges incurred. All applications for an exchange or credit must be accompanied with the original receipt for proof of purchase.The return of "stocked goods", if incorrectly ordered or for no other reason but for credit, will attract a handling charge of up to 20%. "Special order goods" are non returnable unless they are faulty. NO CREDITS ISSUED ON ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS ONCE FITTED (This is a result that a new electrical component may be damaged as a result of other existing faulty electrical components or conditions of the vehicle that the new part is being fitted to.)
